Shin-Etsu Polymer Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Yoshiaki Ono) has announced capacity expansion of containers for transporting silicon wafers.  In anticipation of expansion in semiconductor-related market, the factory in Itoigawa (Itoigawa City, Niigata Prefecture) was already in process of capacity expansion, but now will be increased even further. In addition, we have also decided to build a new wafer case production building on the premises of the Tokyo Factory (Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture) to prepare for an increase in demand for our main product, 300mm wafer containers, and establish a more stable supply system. Together, both expansions will strengthen our BCP system.

Shin-Etsu Polymer's main products are FOSB (Front Opening Shipping Box), which is used to transport wafers from wafer makers to device makers, and FOUP (Front Opening Unified Pod), which is used for in-process transport at device makers.
