In Fuji TV's music program "Hey, Hey,
Hey," televised on April 24, 2000, Digipak was introduced
as one of the special packages in a corner called the "CD
Encyclopedia." Using Makiko Esumi's single CD as an
example, it was explained that Digipak featured a transparent
tray that provided larger design space. |

As a new series of Digipak tray, we introduced
the "Sonic Tray" in the spring of 2001. Sonic Tray
is a thick, black tray with a weighty look that is different
from the conventional Digipak. It has been used as a package
for "S.A.CD." |

The introduction of Play Station II in the
spring of 2000 had a huge impact on the DVD market in Japan.
In the summer of 2001, in terms of the quantity of movie
software production, DVDs overtook video-cassettes. As demand
for a new type of package was driven by this trend, we introduced
the DVDigipak, which is a Digipak designed specially for
DVDs, in the beginning of 2001. |
