We would like to express our heartfelt sympathy for all the victims of the Tohoku Region Pacific Ocean Offshore Earthquake which occurred on March 11, 2011.The affects of the disaster on our group are as detailed below. |

1. Production Facilities
There has been damage to production facilities and trouble with equipment in the Kanto and Tohoku regions, however we have confirmed the safety of the locations. We plan to restart production sequentially while paying close attention to current power supply and other issues and placing our main focus on worker safety. |

2. Employees
We are continuing to investigate the circumstances of Shin-Etsu Polymer Group employees and their families affected by this disaster. |

3. Effects on Performance
The effects of the earthquake on the current term are minor, however we will immediately report any information requiring disclosure should any circumstances leading to such occur in the future. |
