Information Related to the "2011 Tohoku Earthquake
and Tsunami" |

We would like to express our sympathy for all the victims of the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami which occurred on March 11, 2011.
The affects of the disaster on our group are as detailed below. |

| 1. Effects personnel, buildings and production facilities |
| There were no injuries or casualties to Shin-Etsu Polymer Group employees or their immediate families as a result of the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami which occurred on March 11. We have also completed safety checks of our buildings and production facilities at production bases and have found no issues which will impede our production. |

| 2. Effects on business performance |
| The effects of the earthquake are minimal at present, however we shall provide immediate reports should any issues occur in the future which require disclosure. |

| In addition, there is a possibility of restrictions on usage of electricity in areas under the jurisdiction of Tokyo Power and Tohoku Power this summer; however our company and all of our employees are working towards reducing our energy consumption in order to minimize any burdens on limited electricity availability. |
